Hi, i am trying to get my usb dsl modem to work on fedora core 3 my dsl modem type is D-Link DSL-210 ADSL Modem i plugged it and started linux and searched through to the menus to find how i can make the settings for it, but i failed, how can i know if linux recognized it or not ??
how can i install my usb dsl modem? any ideas ?

for checking whether linux recognize ur modem or not give this command on terminal
tail -f /var/log/messages.
When u plus ur modem u will see the messages for ur modem .

You would have been better off with the D-Link 302G ADSL modem, as it also has a LAN port. And since it has a web interface it can be configured via a web browser. You would have only needed to setup Linux for DHCP and that would have been it. I use the 302G via a router, and have no problems with it in both Linux & Windows. Nothing to reconfigure, and no drivers to load.
