Ok, I download and installed fedora 9, but my problem is it will not let me log in, the only passwords it as for is the rootpassword, but after it lodas it gives me 2 options, one is to log in as a guest, and the other, is log in as other user, I have tried both and it locks up, the screen stays that purpilish color and you can move the mouse around, but that's it. how do I log in? I have tried the install twice, same results.

Since f9 is essentially brokenware, probably you're better off discussing it on the -test list.

username: root password: whatever you set as the root password when you installed Fedora.

The graphical login inhibits root boot. When the grub screen comes up on startup, hit return to bring up the menu. Edit the vmlinuz line to enter the number 3. Boot to level three text screen. The root login can be done in this mode. The command startx will get you to the graphical desktop.

You are only prompted for users that have previously logged in excepting root. To login is root or someone you haven't logged in as yet, choose 'other' and then provide the user name.
When you get to the login screen gnome / kde / xfce ... Type Crtl + Alt + F1 and log in as root and create or change user passwords so that you can access them.
