I saw some of them messages the other day. Now the drive makes a loud
hard clunking sound when I try to boot, and it's not detected.
I've bought a replacement drive, but I don't expect to get anything off
the old one.
A loud ckunking sound huh..... sounds like the drive is dead. I haven't heard
a sound like that since the old seagate st-251. I don't expect that you will
be able to get anything off the drive at this point unless you want to spend
some big bucks to a data recovery service. reminds one to make backups on a
regular basis, which I do hop you have done.
