"the unofficial fedora faq" says:
"# Become root:

yum -y install yum-priorities # Now, install my yum configuration (Updated 2 November 2007), using this command:
rpm -Uvh http://www.fedorafaq.org/yum http://rpm.livna.org/livna-release-7.rpm "
Is this a good idea or just the livna site's self-promotion? I am tempted to think this is pretty official, since it comes from fedorafaq.org. But if it was a good idea, why not put it in the default fedora setup? Confused.
Thanks, Dave

Hi Dave,
The FedoraFAQ.org site states the following on its front page:
"NOTE: This is not an official form of support. This is not an official service of Red Hat. These things may solve your worst nightmare, or they may eat all of the cheese in your house. I make no guarantees. YMMV."
so, given that it is truly unofficial, it may not make it into the default setup (due to IP/licensing/legal implications of the packages offered from Livna repos).

Thanks, Dave

Livna can *not* be included in the default fedora setup because it includes software that either has potential patent conflicts (mp3 support) or isn't open source (ATI/nVidia binary drivers).
If you care about patent problems or want your system to be open source software only, don't install Livna. If you don't care and you want mp3 support or binary drivers, go ahead and install it.

Last time I checked, the FedoraFAQ suggested repositories configuration simultaneously enabled all of:
1) Adobe 2) AtRPMs 3) FreshRPMs 4) JPackage 5) PlanetCCMA 6) RPMForge
*I* certainly wouldn't want that entire mess turned on all the time.

ALthough the repos you list are either disjunct (e.g. share no common niche) or are working together should an incompatibility arise. Most even share a common bugzilla.
