Try every possible combination of different stuff, especially
things that are "too simple" to go wrong, like the cable. Try
a different USB port, a different sdcard, a different sdcard
reader. Try booting from a centos 7 live cd and see if it works
again or is still busted.
I booted a C7 live "CD" from the SD card port.
That seems to eliminate hardware problems.
