No not a bug. The 64bit package doesn't actually
technically provide that.
It provides libstdc++.so.5()(64bit)
64bit libraries are listed in the rpm header "colored" with (64bit)
indicator.
try doing that again with a wildcard yum provides
'libstdc++.so.5*(64bit)' or something close to that.
