I've looked at the release notes regarding uninstallation of Ximian software and I
still don't get it.
I have a creaky rh8 + ximian Evolution (not desktop) setup.
When I load the fedora disk one and execute the autorun and ask to install everything plus
gnome, I get the following conflict:
* depcheck: package at-spi needs ORBit2 >= 2.6.0 (not provided)
* depcheck: package at-spi needs gail >= 1.4.0 (not provided)
* depcheck: package at-spi needs gtk2 >= 2.2.0 (not provided)

Now, this seems curious to me since I'm installing from allegedly complete CDROMs. But
maybe what I need to do is to boot from the floppy and run an OS level upgrade. OK, but
let me first remove Ximian. So I've been trying to understand what is meant by
"uninstall ximian". Does this mean I rerun the installer piped from ximian.com?
No uninstall option is provided that I can find. Do I run redhat and mark packages for
uninstallation or use rpm -e? Doesn't seem like such a good idea, since gnome depends
on it:
# rpm -q -a | grep ximian
gtk2-2.0.6-8.ximian.80.1
libgal2.0_5-1.99.10-0.ximian.5.1
aspell-en-0.51.0-0.ximian.5.1
rcd-1.4.5-0.ximian.5.2
red-carpet-2.0.3-0.ximian.5.1.1
libgnomecanvas-2.2.0.2-0.ximian.5.2
libgnomeprintui22-2.2.1.3-0.ximian.5.1
pspell-compat-0.12.2-0.ximian.4
aspell-0.50.3-1.ximian.2
aspell-compat-0.33.7.1-0.ximian.5.4
gtkhtml3.0-3.0.9-0.ximian.5.1
gnome-spell1.0-1.0.5-0.ximian.5.1
libgnomeprint22-2.2.1.3-0.ximian.5.1
libgtkhtml3.0_2-3.0.9-0.ximian.5.1
libsoup-1.99.28-0.ximian.5.1
evolution-1.4.5-0.ximian.5.1
If I remove gtk I have to remove practically everything, including software that
wasn't installed by ximian. Gack! Can someone let me know how to force these to get
fixed up?
