Hiya -
How can I move from the above to the above? Sylpheed used #mh format pulling in from a pop account - of course, I would need to import (if possible) and I guess that's what I'm asking.
What tool do you suggest?

Ahh - looks like perl script mh2maildir might be what I'm looking for.

I suggest you be prepared to move back to claws-mail when you get disgusted with evolution :-).

I suggest you both try Thunderbird. If it is too GUI then I suggest "mail". It's on F7. info mail tells you all about it &.

If this is a whoosh then sorry, but given some of your other "advice" on this list I am not sure it is. Mail is certainly not a mail client to recommend to users who find Thunderbird "too GUI". It is far to basic and would certainly frustrate any newby who was here looking for advice.
If someone wants a terminal based client then I would recommend mutt, which is what I use. Ultimately configurable and very powerful. I have previously used sylpheed (GUI based) which was fine, but prefer the flexibility of mutt, and also run squirrelmail which I can use for remote access to my email when I don't want to run mutt via ssh.

Sylpheed is not Sylpheed-Claws, that's partly to avoid that common confusion that the product name changed to Claws Mail few months ago.
Supposing that you were using Claws Mail, may I ask what problem or dissatisfaction did you encounter?

If Sylpheed supports IMAP, I'd recommend setting up an IMAP server (on the same machine if you don't have a better place), then add an imap account to access it in Sylpheed and move your existing mail to its folder(s). Then you can use any imap client program from any platform and location that has network connectivity to access your mail and switch among them without any conversions.
