Hi folks,
Motherboard Asus A8NVM
keyboard fails to work ==============
This happened after an incident of power interrupt. The power supply was accidentally interrupted while the PC booted CRrom. It just started to boot. From that time onwards on starting PC, pressing [Del] did not start BIOS. The PC booted straight to HD, boot sequency set, floppy/CDrom/Hd. After booting up the FC5_64 keyboard failed to work. It did not type on Doc., such as Editor, Webbrowser, etc. Changing another keyboard did not help. Pleasd advise how to fix this problem. TIA

I think I'd start by clearing the cmos after checking its battery.

Hi Gene and folks,
Tks for your advice. I fixed the problem by removing the battery and allowing the PC standing there for 15 min. Re-plugged the battery and selected default setting. The problem was fixed so easily.
Tks again for your advice.

Thanks for the flowers.
Most mobo's have a jumper for that so you don't have to fool around fishing the battery out & putting it back in. But if you don't have the data sheet on the board, it can be hard to find.

Sounds like a blown fuse on the main board to me.. You will need to have it taken to a repairer or replace the whole board..

I'll just clear that up a bit.. As it sounds like the keyboard fuse on the main board has blown..

Some of those aren't real fuses, and are self resetting. Turning the box completely off for something like half a minute, and letting them go completely cold, before trying again, might do the trick.
