yea, when you compile anything, if it complains about any dep, you have to install the -devel package.

Yep your right. I had SDL-devel installed but not SDL_image-devel.
Thanks

I also ran into another error mesage;
checking uuid/uuid.h usability... no checking uuid/uuid.h presence... no checking for uuid/uuid.h... no configure: error: *** uuid headers not found!
The uuid.h is located at /usr/include/uuid.h ,
What command would use to direct to that PATH, in fact where is the compile looking for the uuid.h ?

In case it really looks for uuid/uuid.h because it uses this file via "#include <uuid/uuid.h>" you cannot get it to accept /usr/include/uuid.h
There's only a work-around: create a symlink from /usr/include/uuid/uuid.h to /usr/include/uuid.h
What command would use to direct to that PATH, in fact where is the compile looking for the uuid.h ?
Look at "configure --help". It might be possible to give it a path where to search for some components.
The configure script probably executes "uuid-config --cflags" to retrieve the search path, but that doesn't tell the program whether to use #include <uuid.h> or #include <uuid/uuid.h>.
Also verify the uuid packaging as whether /usr/include/uuid.h is the default install location for this header file.
In case it is, you may want to inform the developer of the game you're trying to compile to support searching for /usr/include/uuid.h In case it isn't, the uuid package may need an update.

Uh?

Use "repoquery" or "yum" for searching.
There's also pkg "uuid" and "uuid-devel".
Now, obviously, they cannot use the same path, because they would conflict then.
Perhaps jim's program excepts the uuid api from e2fsprogs-devel

Tkis must be a bug on the author of "Lordsawar"
/usr/include/uuid.h # Belongs to uuid-devel
/usr/include/uuid/uuid.h # Belongs to e2fsprogs-devel , I installed e2fsprogs-devel and that satisfied the dependency, at /usr/include/uuid/uuid.h.
So from my point of view his script should be pointing to /usr/include/uuid.h. Is that not correct ?

Depends on what they are linking against.
/usr/include/uuid.h is the API for /usr/lib/libossp-uuid.so
while /usr/include/uuid/uuid.h is part of API for some libraries from e2fsprogs-devel

That game is in Fedora! You can derive your work on the existing src.rpm if necessary.

Thanks for pointing that out.
