The timestamp on those directories is the same as the last boot and the permissions are
drwx------. 3 root root
What's the problem and how can I fix it?
I don't normally use gnome. But a quick round of googling reveals that....
It's not much of a problem. Since /tmp is shared, software owned by
various users often has private subdirectories under it (which other
uids cannot access), and gnome-settings-daemon is just being
unnecessarily verbose about that.
If you check for running processes on your system you'd find that there are 2 copies
gnome-settings-daemon
running. One under your username the other under the user name gdm. Neither of
these can access the directories in question. So, it is like it says
gnome-settings-daemon just being verbose.
Summary, not a problem. Nothing to worry about. Nothing to fix.
