I need help getting LibreOffice Calc to accept a simple math

Can someone point me to a good instruction for entering it? I simply want to add two

I do not know what you want to do based on the words you've used.
You say "columns", but the elements E1, G2, and F2 define "cells".
With the letter designating the "column" of the cell and the number the
"row" of the cell.
Why don't you place you're calc file some where for folks to look at it?
