The current version (2.0x) in FC3 addresses this issue. FC4 will probably come with 2.1x which adds a number of interesting plugins.
Just for the record, I have 2.0.2 of Evo and I still get hangs with the Exchange calendar. I haven't tried it with Exchange 2003, but with Exchange2K it made the system almost unusable.
You might want to see if the .04 series (MUA and Data-Server) addresses these issues.
Are these available as RPMs? Or should I suck it up and compile from source?

That's great. I'm not in a big hurry for it, but I do want to test it when it's available so I can prove to my company that it works.

do the testing now so developers can fix any bugs and get an update out properly
