In vim, entering ctl-V u xxxx works. This does not work for me on the xterm command line (ksh is shell).
Is there a way to enter unicode characters in xterm?
One way that will work in any shell is:
uc() { /usr/bin/printf \u$1; };
Then, use e.g.
echo $(uc 2639)
You can export uc from your initialization file.
