AFAIK, it's a Gnome thing. I've certainly not found the equivalent in
Xfce, and I'd love to. If nothing else, it helps when you've brought
the screen back up by moving the mouse and need to find out where it got
to. Hmm, maybe I should go over to their forum and suggest it as an
enhancement...
It is a GNOME thing. I don't know if it's available in any other
desktop managers.
Install gnome-tweak-tool, open it and select the Mouse menu item.
