Generally you probably shouldn't run yum as a non-root (or admin)
user. My experience is that non root users can't update the meta-data
so it downloads it every time. If I'm just trying to list/search
something then sometimes I use my normal login but I always run it
with -C so it doesn't try to update the meta data.
