Your pastebin for the broken kernel shows an ACPI warning, I don't
know if it's related, but you could try the acpi=off kernel option and
see if that changes things (not a long term solution, but could be
useful information).

Sound works with both the 3.6.1-1.fc17.x86_64 and 3.6.2-4.fc17.x86_64
kernels om my 64 bit machines. pulseaudio is installed.
