Try changing the url to the
downloads.fedora.redhat.com one and run
yum check-update to see if it finds some that are not on your canadian
servers, if it does then I guess that it is the servers that you are
using not syncing in a timely fashion......

Hi All,
Some time ago, I believe 2 weeks ago, I asked a question regarding the lack of
synchronization between up2date and yum. I noticed that yum reports no
updates avalilable and the RH alert icon reports 6 updates available.
I was told that it was probably due to mirrors not getting synced in a timely
mannor and that I should wait. I have 2 set up in my yum.conf file for
updates:
[updates-released]
baseurl=http://gulus.usherbrooke.ca/pub/distro/fedora/linux/core/updates/$releasever/$basearch/
baseurl=ftp://ftp.telus.net./pub/fedora/linux/core/updates/$releasever/$basearch/
Both are listed as canadian mirriors. Short of listing every available mirror
in my yum.conf, how can I be sure which app is telling the truth?
I like the idea of a visual notice and would like to keep the up2date service
running but ony if I can trust it to be correct.
Thanks in advance,
Phil
