Oh yes it comes with its own driver. The thing is how was I able to install over WiFi if there wasn't a fedora driver available. I have a gut feeling it's my lack of knowledge of how the cli tools work. Can fedora scan for an appropriate driver and install?

It also includes a radio. These units may need to load vendor firmware for use, and do require a specific driver, which may come from the vendor or some open-source project. If you post details of your device someone may be able to tell you how to use it with current Fedora.
Use "lsusb"to find the device name and bus location. For example (showing only the wifi device):
Bus 001 Device 017: ID 0bda:8176 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8188CUS 802.11n WLAN Adapter
Also run `lshw --wlan`. The entry for the above device is:
22: USB 00.0: 0282 WLAN controller [Created at usb.122] Unique ID: i1H1.x9IMWGGtcg8 Parent ID: cLrx.8T3QcmdDop7 SysFS ID: /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:14.0/usb1/1-2/1-2.3/1-2.3:1.0 SysFS BusID: 1-2.3:1.0 Hardware Class: network Model: "Realtek RTL8188CUS 802.11n WLAN Adapter" Hotplug: USB Vendor: usb 0x0bda "Realtek Semiconductor Corp." Look for the "Link detected" and "Driver" entries. Run `ls mod | grep <driver_name>`, e.g.,
% ls mod | grep rtl8192c rtl8192cu 94208 0 rtl_usb 28672 1 rtl8192cu rtl8192c_common 69632 1 rtl8192cu rtlwifi 110592 3 rtl8192c_common,rtl_usb,rtl8192cu mac80211 1298432 4 rtl_usb,rtl8192cu,rtlwifi,rtl8xxxu
You also look in journalctl for messages related to these modules.
