There seems to be a Firefox extension / add on that is able to do this. See link below.
Thanks, I've installed that, and will see if I can use it.
Let me confess my motivation: In the last month my bank have said 3 or 4 times that I have given the wrong PIN number, and has blocked my account. (I just have to ring them to unblock it, but it is annoying.)
I'm 95% sure I gave the correct PIN number, but would like to verify that.
isn't it a keylogger that you want?

I am a little worried that some baddie might have accessed my laptop. Hopefully that is not so, as I am running shorewall on a home server in between laptop and internet, and it shouldn't be possible to get through. Also I haven't had any warnings, and don't see anything out of place in my log files.
Any suggestions of likely cause?
