Is there something in Fedora that I might use to determine the maximum speed the network card of my computer can attain on Internet?
Your Ethernet card will operate allways at its maximum speed (100Mbps if Fast Ethernet or 1000 Mbps if Gigabit Ethernet with Cat5e or Cat6 cable), until it reaches your Moderm/Router that connects you to your ISP, there is the bottleneck, from your Modem/Router to "the cloud".
