Don't do that in California. It's against the law.
And probably other states as well. But I had a state patrol creep by me while I was pushing the speed limit by about 3 mph, at night so the glare from the lappies screen was pretty well lighting up the cab, several times in the various states but none of them seemed inclined to investigate what surely must have looked like a running tv in the cab from where they were sitting 2 feet below me in the cruisers. Toll gate people on I80/I90 said its (gps setups) are actually pretty commonly done these days.
I80/I90? I have probably been through those tool boots a time or two. On the other hand, I prefer to use an I-pass and avoid the booth. (And save money.) Strange thing - because they do not list the Wisconsin motorhome license, I get charged the same rate as a car when I use the I-pass. (I checked "other", they changed it to auto. I called the 800 number and explained. It is back to "other", but still the car rate.) I spend less the $40/year on tolls, so I guess they figure it isn't worth fixing.
