netstat is another one,
netstat -antu
Will show what TCP (t) and UDP (u) ports are active (a) [open and listening] by numerical (n) values only.
Remove the n, and they'll be shown by names (resolving the IP addresses and showing the usual names for known port numbers).
Adding more options, like "netstat -antuevp" will show extra information, such as which programs are using those ports.
