Thanks !!
I did tail -f /var/log/messages
and it worked just fine.
The problem is that I'm trying to get to work a midi device wich needs some firmware loader, and the p the driver for the device needs to be installed in Windows, and then after copying some Windows files to linux, I can run the firmware loader and install the driver on linux.
Huge problem, I don't have Windows !
So I'm going to search some more...
Thanks for the help !!!

hey,
you can check whether your usb devices are getting detected are not
tail -f /var/log/messages.
If your usb devices are not working properly. Please upgrade your kernel, hotplug rpm, udev rpms, initscript rpm, usbutils rpm.
