What's the driver you're using?
I just made an update using kyum. So here's what I got:
kmod-nvidia 1.0.9755-2.6.20-1.2944.fc6 x86_64 livna
xorg-x11-drv-nvidia 1.0.9755 x86_64 livna
kernel 2.6.20-1.2944.fc6 x86_64 planetupdates
But still, sometimes it takes 2-3 reboots to get the graphical login
screen.
Probably better to do something that erases it during shutdown.
You're less likely to stuff something up that just made a temp file.
The /tmp would be cleared out at a proper shutdown, but left alone
with a crash. That might be important if you needed to check
something left in there to diagnose a fault.
Thanks for the tip !
Cheers.
