No. I don't need fancy graphics and the high level of traffic about ATI and Nvidia on this list puts me off getting into that. The only graphic-intensive app I use is the foobillard game, which used to be acceptable but now is virtually unplayable because of flicker.
Are you able to change the shared video memory in the BIOS? You have 2GB. Test setting to auto if the setting is available. The video card may be starving for memory and hence the repainting errors.

OK, something called IGD DVMT Memory was set at 128MB. I upped it to 256MB. First impressions after 5 minutes of use are that it does seem to make a difference, i.e. there are still some repainting bugs but they are less egregious than they were.
The glxgears test is no better unfortunately.
