This reminds me SO much of reading old IBM Red Books. You must
thoroughly understand the *footnotes* to Chapter 22 before you can
actually understand the third paragraph of Chapter 2.
(Cannot now remember whether that was OS/2 or REXX... Lost to human memory.)
And also reminds me why Linux can be considered a cult, as there are
arcane and unknown rules controlling how things work.

altas-devel
by Patrick Dupre
Hello,
Before fc36
atals-devel provided /usr/include/clapack.h
Now
clapack.h is
/usr/include/atlas-x86_64-base/clapack.h
Why such a change?
It requires to modify source files.

Hello,
Trying to recompile my codes with fc36 I get numerous issues.
One in with perl-PDL
I get
Cores.xs:123:17: error: too many arguments to function ‘PDL->converttype’
123 | PDL -> converttype (array, PDL_D, 1) ;

Cores.xs:146:37: warning: passing argument 1 of ‘PDL->converttype’ from incompatible pointer type [-Wincompatible-pointer-types]

in my code
pdl *array ;
While is was OK before.
Checking the manual

pdl * in
CODE:
PDL->converttype( &in, PDL_L, 1);
What could be wrong with this function converttype now?
Thank.

Fedora-Server-netinst-x86_64-36-1.5.iso
by Robert McBroom
Trying to use the netinst iso to install Fedora-Server 36 on a new 1T
NVME drive. The drive is gpt has currently a 17M Microsoft Reserved
partition and the rest of the disk is a single ntfs partition. The
system is uefi and currently boots windows and fedora 35 on other drives
intended
/boot 1G
/ 200G
The netinst wants a bios boot partition, and a /boot/efi partition. It
keeps getting hung on the Microsoft Reserved partition as a type none.
The initial allocation for /boot was 1.86G. Attempted to resize to a
0.86G /boot/efi and a 1G /boot. Could not get the /boot/efi partition
recognized for the install to proceed. Could not get the 1G freespace
edited to mount as /boot. Could not resize the remainder of the disk for
the desired 200G /.
How does one do an install on multiple drve systems?

Virtualization Recommendations?
by Sbob
All;
I am frustrated with VMware, I am running Fedora35 and it refuses to
compile since kernel 5.17.14-200.fc35.x86_64 so I am stuck running a
kernel 3+ updates behind. At this point I have to exclude the kernel
from any updates so the only kernel that VMware works with does not get
removed.
Are there any other virtualization tools that would continue to work, or
at least continue to work with more recent kernels? Is Xen an option?
Are there others?
Thanks in advance

virt-manager vm cannot resize to window and VPN issue
by Sbob
Hi all;
I installed the following today :
qemu-kvm libvirt virt-install bridge-utils virt-manager libvirt-devel
virt-top libguestfs-tools guestfs-tools
I followed this guide to install virt-manager and a bridged network.
I used virt-v2v to convert a VMware image :
# virt-v2v -i vmx /data/vmware/Fedora35-Wynnbet/Fedora35-Wynnbet.vmx -o
local -of qcow2 -os /data/kvm/Imported/Fedora35-Wynnbet
Then I edited the resulting xml file
(/data/kvm/Imported/Fedora35-Wynnbet/Fedora35-Wynnbet.xml)
and I commented out the network interface (the VMware one):
<!-- <interface type='network'> -->
<!-- <source network='ethernet0'/> -->
<!-- <model type='virtio'/> -->
<!-- <mac address='00:0C:29:0B:53:5E'/> -->
<!-- </interface> -->
Next I added the new vm to virt-manager:
# virsh define /data/kvm/Imported/Fedora35-Wynnbet/Fedora35-Wynnbet.xml
It worked, I started the vm from virt-manager, logged in and used
virt-manager to create a new interface.
Now I have 2 issues:
1) I cannot get it to resize the VM with the window, the *View -> Scale
Display -> Auto Resize VM with Window *option is greyed out
2) the VMware vm was setup with a PPTP based VPN, but in the converted
kvm / virt-mananger vm the vpn will not connect, it simply says an error
occurred.
Thanks in advance
