OT: Getting lot of "TCP Retransmission" when ssh to on machine
by Jon Ingason
Hi, know that this not a Fedora problem. I have browsed the web without
getting answer the fit the problem I have.
I thing this has something to do with the network between to machines.
One, machine A, is in my study in my house the other, machine B, is in
my garage that i about 10 m away from house. Machine A is connected
directly the main Internet router. Between that router and machine B are
two extenders, C and D. Extender C is in extender mode, while D i meshed
to C. Machine B is directly connected to D.
The problem is that when I ssh from B to A everything is as it should
be. But if I ssh from A to B I get lot of "TCP Retransmission". The
connection from B to Internet is working excellent as well as for all
other devices connected to my network.
I just wonder if someone had some experience similar problems.
Machines A and B are x86_64 Fedora 26 kernel 4.13.11-200
Router is ASUS RT-N66R
Extenders are Strong Range Extender 1600

Asterisk 15.1.1 no longer available in Fedora 27
by Bogdan Cristea
Hi
After updating to Fedora 27 Asterisk version isa 15.1.1, but after uninstalling Asterisk and I am no longer able to install version 15.1.1, instead I get version 14. This older version does not start correctly, so I am stuck. Can someone tell me where I can find a repository for Fedora 27 with a recent enough Asterisk version ?
I am interested in VoIP and I would like to contribute, maybe you could guide me on finding groups interested in the same subject.
thanks

Curiosity: what gnome-boxes does more than virt-manager ?
by Dario Lesca
This is a my curiosity.
virt-manager does many things more than gnome-boxes, and is much more
intuitive and similar to other VM manager
Why not support and improve only one (virt-manager) VM manager?
Thanks for reply

dnf-automatic broken?
by Tom Horsley
My cron job to download updates didn't appear to be working,
so I ran dnf-automatic manually and it said it was downloading
a bunch of packages.
So far, so good.
Then I ran dnf -y update
And it downloaded the same packages again in order to
install them.
What the heck is going on here?
This always worked previously. My dnf update would find
the cached packages dnf-automatic had downloaded at night
in cron.
This seems to have started fairly recently. I see
an update for dnf-automatic was installed on Oct 24,
so it may have started then (new dnf also installed
at the same time).

selinux prevents user to log-in
by François Patte
Bonjour,
I have just upgraded an f23 to f26, keeping the home partition.
selinux blocks the user log-in: when I try to log in, lightdm shows my
login name, but when I enter my password, the process aborts and I go
back to the lightdm login screen....
If I disable selinux, I can login.
What to do: permanentely disable selinux?
Thank you.

Logitech Gaming Wireless Headset with PulseAudio Ouput
by Stephen Morris
Hi,
I have a Logitech G533 Wireless Gaming Headset. Now that I have
configure the PulseAudio device output to use the headset I am now
getting audio output through the headset. The issue I have is that
pulseaudio only offers digital stereo output and mono input for the mic,
how do I configure pulseaudio to provide the 7.1 surround sound that the
headset actually supplies?

DWA-192 USB Wireless Network 5 GHz Interface Connection Speed
Severely Degraded
by Stephen Morris
Hi,
Having downloaded an updated version of the driver from Github that
now compiles and runs with the 4.13 kernel I have looked at the wifi
properties under Gnome and they tell me the connection speed is
450Mb/sec which is about the connection speed I get under Windows 10
with the 2.4 GHz interface. Under Windows 10 the 5 GHz interface
connects at the documented speed of 1.3 Mb/sec. If I use the 2.4 GHz
interface for the device gnome tells me the connection speed is 252 Mb/sec.
Why are the connection speeds in Fedora so degraded?

Steve
