I am not using the ATI driver.
Which "profile directory" are you referring to? Do you mean the file
/etc/profile?

a request to the list
by Craig White
Let's not speak about those who have recently departed the list, either
by choice or by administrative intervention. It serves no purpose to
trash them, nor to praise them.
The topic is Fedora Linux - let's stay with it.

F8 Evolution and dropped reply-to style
by "Paul-Erik Törrönen"
It seems that the current Evolution (2.12.3) shipped by Fedora 8 _forces_
one to top post (ie. write the response above the quoted message).
There are only four different ways to configure the reply style:
0 Quote original message (puts a newline and prompt on top of the message,
paste-relevant-part behaves identically)
1 Do not quote original message (err.. how do I then comment on specific
issues? The paste-relevant-part does not work)
2 Attach original message (ditto)
3 Inline original (Outlook style) (see 0, and does not quote)
Can I please have the proper way, which was already implemented in earlier
versions, returned to this otherwise good software.
Thanks,
Poltsi

iptables ignores port 1900?
by Michael D. Berger
The following lines in iptables do not seem to work:
-A LOG-UDP-DROP -j LOG --log-prefix "IPT-UDP-DROP " --log-level debug
--log-ip-options --log-uid
-A LOG-UDP-DROP -j DROP
...
-A OUT -p udp -d 239.255.255.250 --dport 1900 -j LOG-UDP-DROP
Packets described by the last line continue to pass my wifi,
and the indicated log line does not appear. Why?
Thanks,
Mike.

Furthermore, is the building's electrical system properly wired? The
ground lug needs to be connected to ground. You'd need a plug-in tester
to be sure.
Or, are you using an adapter on a 2-prong outlet? :(

There are thousands on this list and certainly are not all of a like
mind and the fact that you think that we think, act and behave in
concert is an indication of the lack of depth that comprises your
insights.
Personally, I don't understand your motivations that have you
engendering such animus on this list and to be honest, I don't want to
know. I have considered pissing all over you on the Samba mail list (and
yes, I am a Samba team member) and even chasing you around other lists,
but to be honest, I struggle with the notion of stooping to your level.
Summon up some courage and unsubscribe - clearly you are the only one
who appreciates your foul language, your ugly partisanship and community
destructive behavior.
Craig
PS: To earlier poster, spare me the updates on Karl. If I was
interested, I would tune in to the Ubuntu lists.

Now, why dont you post the rest of it, oh no,of course not, that thread
would not suit your pendantic little showing-off bullshit.
The guys gone but yet you still attack him, how fucking gutless, what a
coward you mob are.. very pathetic mob of wankas indeed.

ThinkPad T61 camera HOWTO?
by Matthew Saltzman
Does anyone know of a good description of how to get the T61's Webcam
working? I googled, but didn't find anything usable.
Also, what package would I use to capture images from it?
TIA.
