I am running my Broadcom wireless card with bcm43xx (and fwcutter) versus ndiswrapper like I have done for the last 2 years.
My wireless connection stops working periodically. /etc/init.d/network restart gets it going again every time.
Does anyone else have this problem ? Should I report this to Redhat's bugzilla database or is this a kernel issue that should be reported elsewhere ? Or should I discuss it in the test-list or devel-list first ?
Thanks.

I have seen this since I updated to the 2200 FC5 kernel, that the network drops out occasionally, possibly during an idle period. It didn't happen before I upgraded so I guess it is a kernel issue.

Strangely I don't see this with my x86 (FC5) based laptop and wireless linksys card using that chipset, but I do see it on my PowerMac G4 laptop (FC5) and the built in chipset. Both are up to date. I think it's still very much work in progress and problems are to be expected.
I have the exact same problem with FC6 final....had it with FC6 test 3, FC6 test 2 and FC5. All were new installs. When it does it to me, I have to pull the network card out and then put it back in. It also stops the clock on the laptop when it happens? I never mentioned it because I assumed it was unique to this laptop (Dell Inspiron 2200).

You guys are lucky, I can't even get the darn thing to connect to my AP. Though the driver seems to be working.

It should connect properly/easily. I had an issue with mine, but that was because I didn't have ndiswrapper uninstalled. Search this list a few days back for my post on all the clean up I did before I installed bcm43xx. Hint: when you uninstall ndiswrapper and then run /etc/init.d/network restart, you shouldn't see any mention of a wireless device. If you do, ndiswrapper is not yet uninstalled. It needs to be before bcm43xx can be installed.
