Hello!
I have a desktop and a laptop loaded with Fedora Core 5 and 6, respectively, and a program that's trying to include <Xm/Xm.h>. It doesn't appear on my o/s; what am I missing? How may I determine where to get such missing X things?
Regards, Chip Campbell

Run "yum whatprovides xm.h". I tried it and got "lesstif-devel.i386"
Google also works, try "Xm.h fedora rpm"

Both FC5 and FC6 are unsupported now (FC5 was dropped back in July/07 and FC6 in December/07). So nows the time to plan upgrades. :)

You can use yum provides with some wildcards to see what, if any, package(s) provide the needed files:
yum provides */Xm/Xm.h [...] lesstif-devel.i386 : Header files for LessTif/Motif development

While you can try lesstif to provide that, I would suggest that you go to the openmotif site and get that version of Motif. Both libraries and development files are included. Note that at the "registration" page, you do not have to register. Just click "Finish" and it will take you to the download page.

Thank you for your answers -- I'll give them a try tonight on my home computer! Chip Campbell
