I've also been hesitant with moving to FC2, since it seems that my NForce2 chipset mobo (MSI K7N2 Delta-L) doesn't like the 2.6 kernel all that much. Is there anyone out here that's having the same issues with overall slowness, or even lockups?
Could this be related to the 4K Stack issue?
I am convinced that FC2 is stable, but I want my performance back, like I have with FC1!
Just wondering.

I have an NForce2 ASUS A7N8X-Deluxe Rev 2. I noticed a distinct performance improvement between FC1 and FC2.
I haven't tried recompiling the kernel yet for an 8K stack.
Is your BIOS tweaked for performance, or overclocking?

I have the same mobo and haven't seen any stability problems with FC2 *knock on wood* Note that I don't use the onboard sound, ethernet or video cards since I already have other add-on cards.

I have a A7N8X-Deluxe from asus.. The only problems I have are related to my PSU not being strong enough... (I know this is the problem.. As soon as I added a new HDD , the computer started to lock randomly...) Besides that , everything works fine (well , except for my radeon 9500 pro... I dont have 3d acceleration with the xorg supoort, but I can live without it..)

I have a K7N2 Delta ILSR/XP 2500 running at 2200 mhz (11x/200) with a pair of garden variety PC3200 512mb DIMMs. I don't believe I have ever had a lockup on this system (certainly none with FC2)...but I always use hulking big copper heatsinks/large fans and never less than a 400W power supply. Performance is excellent using the standard FC2 forcedeth driver for the onboard NIC and the intel8x0 sound driver for the onboard audio. This system has an nVidia FX 5200 using the nv video driver for the time being.

I have an ABIT NF7-S motherboard with the nForce 2 chipset, and I haven't had any problems. As others have mentioned, there is a noticeable performance increase, and the system is stable. In FC1 I had to install nVidia's chipset drivers for full hard drive performance and for the onboard ethernet to work at all. On FC2, I'm using out of the box drivers with no problems. The only nVidia performance issue I know of is with the video drivers.
