Security issues. You should be able to use these logged in as a NON-root user.

NO, not all...let's say for example add/remove program or update, or some programs for which I must have permissions to change gconf-editor...

That is when you use the 'su' command or run the applet to download the updates. You need root password for it to do its work. Or, run yum as a cron job.

did I do any step forward?

Nope - you need to use the correct file generated by the running X secession. Note, this is taken care of automaticly for you when you run "su -" in a terminal in the running X secession. It is also taken care of by ssh when you used ssh -Y to connect to a remote box from an xterm on your machine. Where you run into problems is when you log in at the cli as root, and then try and run a program that requires an X display, or when you ssh to another machine without X forwarding enabled.
Oh yes, chances are, the correct cookie file is in the /tmp directory somewhere.

I can't find that...is any other solution? Or can anybody send me his file
or something...

As Mikkel said, the file is *generated* when you need it, *for* your system. Someone else's one won't do you any good.
I think you might need to describe the process you're using to log on as root. e.g. I log in graphically as myself, I do a "su -" to become root, and I can run graphical programs without any problems.

Sending you my file would be like sending you my password - it would not do you any good on your system. Think of it this way - the cookie file is a key that unlocks a specific lock. Trying to use a key that is for a different lock is not going to work. What make this key even harder to copy is that a new key and lock are used every time you start the X server. (You start a new X server when you do a local GUI login, or run startx.)
As far as the name of the cookie file, it depends on the display Manager being used. On my system, using GDM, the current file is /etc/.gdm679ZWT but it will be different after I log out. The user currently logged into the GUI can find it by running "echo $XAUTHORITY" in an xterm.
Now, as Tim has said, if you tell us what you are trying to do, we can probably tell you how to do it. Or you can try to figure out the xauth man page...

On forum some guy had indentical problem and here is what he wrote:
If i remember correctly, i noticed that i hadn't a .xAuthority for my user.
Somehow, that mutated the problem, and i found the solution...But i don't remember, sorry.
So, how can I add .Xauthority, man xauth not helping me very much...I'll keep trying

I think your looking for a root editor. My solution is to yum install joe which is a Word Star editor that writes perfect ascii text. I run this editor in a Terminal window that is made root. It works just fine.

Is this with a local login, trying to run something on the same box? Or have you ssh'd over to another box, and you're trying stuff over a network?

Dumb question - what version of Fedora are you running? I ask because what you are doing works for me on FC5, FC6 and I think on F7. (I don't remember if I tried it on F7 directly, but I know it worked fine when I did a ssh connection to the F7 box, and su -)

You will have to read the xauth man page - it shows you most of the options. You can also disable some of the X security using the xhost command. For example, running "xhost +localhost" in an xterm will open access to everyone on the local machine. (This HAS to be run by a user that can connect to the X server.)
I wonder why you are having this problem. In F7, if I open an xterm, run "su -" to become root, and then run an X command, it works fine for me. I am drawing a blank about what to ask to figure out how your setup is different then the standard setup.

You don't say if this is local or remote. If remote, remember to use -Y, ie:
$ ssh -Y myserver
If it is local, use sudo for commands that need to be run as root. That will preserve your Xwindows permissions. However, runing KDE based applications via sudo, will create (recreate) ~/.ICEauthority as root. This will cause your next login to fail. Be sure to remove (or change permissions on) it before you log out.
Also, most of the system-config-* commands are now able to ask for the root password, thus enabling you to run them from the command line either locally or remote as yourself.
Good luck!

Add your account to /etc/sudoers then use sudo to launch applications with root privileges.
Example:
sudo gedit /root/file.txt
or to use gedit to edit the password file
EDITOR=gedit sudo vipw
