installed Basic Desktop, Xfce Desktop and startx will not boot anything. I believed it was a "good ole" systemd thing, but systemctl afaik seems not to behind this. I know wayland has replaced X but there was X libraries sill in the distro isn't there? How do I boot a gui? I believe xfce runs on X. I see no gnome, or even kde.
I am probably behind and I am no developer, so idk what's up. what

Are you deliberately booting into a command line interface then separately starting a graphical user interface for a reason, or habit?
If you installed an XFCE spin, I'd expect it to just work.
But, do you get anywhere doing "startxfce4" instead of "startx"?
NB: I haven't used XFCE for a very long time, I found it way too primitive back then, so I've not kept up with it.
Yes I always boot to a cli and rarely use a gui. I want it there right now to try, I will try using a server. I have considered have a remote ssh and rsync and I think using it in a terminal windows to try and having a browser there might be a bit easier. If I go through with it.
