Although Fedora does mostly include pretty recent packages even the current development builds only include a rather archaic mysql-3.23.58-9 rpm. This does not seem to be a big problem because it is quite easy to install an official build instead. However this cause several other problems, most important the perl-DBD-MySQL-2.9003-4 fails due to unsatisfied dependencies.
