I'm looking for a good compatible webcam for my Fedora 8 laptop.
Does anyone have suggestions for a good plug-and-play webcam?
I also want to use video chat software where the other end can run Windows. Any suggestions for that? Skype 2.0? Others?
My main priority is getting something working and I'm willing to mix non-free software and/or somewhat more expensive webcam hardware.
Thanks, Bart

You're using it with skype? Exactly what version of Skype does video streaming? I just installed 2.0.0.68-fc5.i586 as this seems to be the latest, but I don't have any webcam button to do video. And if I do a skype test call it says I'm having problems with the sound. Which version are you using, and how do you do video streaming? The sound I assume has to do with pulse audio. Thanks!
