System: AMD dual core Athlon ATI690G
RAM: 4 GB (Dual Channel DDR2)
Graphics: Radeon X1200 (integrated) & Card Radeon 2400
Hard Disk: SATA Seagate AHCI
Extra Boot Time Kernel Parameters: NONE
Messages:
Did see things like
don't' know how to make device "loop2"
don't' know how to make device "loop3"
Otherwise starts lots of services by default...ALL "[OK]"
ISSUES:
1. Does not load the correct driver module (radeon) for the IG card
and also the other one.
2. Monitor resolution (Philips 17inch) not correctly detected ...
apparently due to Belkins KVM
resolution was 640x..?
3. kde seems to freeze after a minute or so. Cannot be rectified by
restarting the x-server. Opening a terminal (from keyboard) results in
a black screen

TEST-3
Boot to run level 3
modprobe radeon
Startx
SAME ISSUES
Checked lsmod, dmesg ... not clear
(will follow up)
- ------------------------
Fedora-9 is fine on the same system (no boot time kernel parameters
required) with 3D acceleration etc...had to set up all the graphics
myself though.

questions regarding internet sharing
by Neville A. Cross
I have watched an amazing video about internet sharing using fedora10
http://www.redhatmagazine.com/2008/10/16/video-fedora-10-connection-sharing/
it said it was easy as one, two, three... but not luck
I don't know if this is a bug, I may guess that is may fault. But I
have looked on google and get a lot of web pages that were not really
related to what I was looking.
I am running a LiveCD, I haven't installed anything to my computer
yet. It is need to install it before trying to run a internet sharing?
I went for the network manager, clicked on "new network" created the
new wireless network and ... nothing happened.
Do I need to install somenthing befor going for internet sharing, like dhcpd ?
There is a manual about network-manager? I would like to read it even
if it is for older versions.
I would like to show off this cool feature on our fedora10 release party

Fedora 10 Beta boot makes loud pop in speakers
by Gerry Tool
Every time I start F10beta, I get a couple of loud pops from my
speakers as the boot progress bar moves across the screen. It is
annoying, but I'm also concerned about damage to the speakers since it
is so loud.
Do others experience this?
What element should I post a bug against?
What system data would be useful to identify the component that may be
incompatible?
Thanks. Gerry

Help: Perplexing NetworkManager Problem
by Petrus de Calguarium
Something keeps changing the HWaddr of eth0 to 00:00:00:00:00:00 after every boot, so when I restart the computer, NetworkManager cannot connect.
ifconfig eth0 shows HWaddr 00:00:00:00:00:00!!!
I set it correctly manually and I can connect, then after reboot, same all over again.
NetworkManager creates automatic wired entries called Auto Ethernet, System Ethernet and the like, but they have no HWaddr in them. When I put the real one in and reboot, they are set to all zeros, or are blank.
I have tried setting these autogenerated entries to either use the System Setting, or not, but the result is the same.
I have checked in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0, but the HWaddr is correct there.
Also, it keeps putting a Search= and DNS1= line into ifcfg-eth0, which it never did prior to the last update (NetworkManager-0.7.0-0.11.svn4175), which isn't a problem in itself, but this causes selinux to act up, flagging a need to restorecon on ifcfg-eth0 (which also never happened prior to selinux-policy-targeted-3.5.13-2). Nevertheless, selinux is not preventing a connection, but could it be forcing the HWaddr to zero all the time?

VirtualBox and Fedora 10 - crashing all the time!?!
by Valent Turkovic
Hi,
my company switched to new Exchange 2007 and unfortunately
evolution-exchange plugin doesn't support it so I was "forced" to
start using Windows again (after using only Fedora on my work for past
4 years).
I installed Windows XP under VirutalBox but I have issues all the
time. The virtual machine works ok for some time and then just stops
and in VirtualBox I get status "suspended". I had this under Fedora
Core 6 and also now in Fedora 10 beta.
Does anybody have some experience running windows under VirtualBox?
How is windows behaving for you?
Thank you in advance,
Valent.
