To clarify, this did not come up at the Board meeting. But from a
separate thread on this list it doesn't seem like there is a pressing
need for another trademark approval.
I'd like the Spins SIG to clearly spell out in their process page the
policy about renewing Board approval. My suggestion is:
* For continued release, Board re-approval is not necessary unless
there are substantial differences introduced in the Spin from either
previous releases of that Spin or from the standard Fedora release
itself. The definition of substantial will be a judgment call by
the Spins SIG.
* When <N> number of releases are skipped between Spin releases, the
Board should be consulted for re-approval. [<N> is a decision for
the Spins SIG, but should probably be either 1 or 2.]
This exact phrasing is what we'll try and get into the process during
the next Spins SIG meeting, if everyone agrees. We'll have a number by
then as well.
