Delay in upcoming Two Week Atomic Release
by Sinny Kumari
Hi all,
This email is to inform that there will be some delay in next Atomic Two
Week
Release. This is due to some issues with uploading Atomic AMIs. We are
working
on getting it fixed as soon as possible. Once we have AMIs back, we will do
next
Two week release.
Thanks,
Sinny

[releng] Issue #7434: Broken buildroot in EPEL 7
by Mattias Ellert
ellert reported a new issue against the project: `releng` that you are following:
``
I tried to build a package update for EPEL 7. It failed.
https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=26292048
The failure only happens on some of the architectures. On x86_64 and ppc64 the build failed during installation of the build dependencies with
Error: initscripts conflicts with 1:redhat-release-server-7.4-1.x86_64
However, on aarch64 and ppc64le the installation of the build dependences works and the build succeeds. The packages that conflict on the failing architectures no not conflict here:
During the install of the buildroot:
DEBUG util.py:439: Installed:
DEBUG util.py:439: redhat-release-server.aarch64 1:7.4-1
During the install of the build dependencies:
DEBUG util.py:439: Installing for dependencies:
DEBUG util.py:439: initscripts aarch64 9.49.39-1.el7_4.1 build 436 k
Building the package locally in mock for EPEL 7 x86_64 succeeds even though this is one of the architectures that fail in koji. Though this installs centos-release.x86_64 7-4.1708.el7.centos rater than redhat-release-server-7.4-1.x86_64.
I don't understand why the build fails on some architectures and not on others. Why two packages conflict on some architectures and not others.
