Bug ID: 1853574
Summary: Devel::Cover produces warning about build vs runtime
perl mismatch
Product: Fedora
Version: 32
Status: NEW
Component: perl-Devel-Cover
Assignee: spotrh(a)gmail.com
Reporter: git(a)cfware.com
QA Contact: extras-qa(a)fedoraproject.org
CC: jose.p.oliveira.oss(a)gmail.com,
perl-devel(a)lists.fedoraproject.org, spotrh(a)gmail.com
Target Milestone: ---
Classification: Fedora
Description of problem:
Using Devel::Cover in Fedora 32 produces a warning.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
perl-Devel-Cover-1.33-4.fc32.x86_64
perl-interpreter-5.30.3-453.fc32.x86_64
How reproducible:
Every time.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Execute `cover`
Actual results:
Warning/error is printed:
This version of Devel::Cover was built with Perl version 5.030001.
It is now being run with Perl version 5.030003.
Attempting to make adjustments, but you may find that some of your modules do
not have coverage data collected. You may need to alter the +-inc, +-ignore
and +-select options.
Expected results:
No warning about version mismatches.
Additional info:
Actual coverage results seem to be fine.
This issue was previously fixed in Fedora 30, see
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1767477. Sorry if I was supposed
to comment on the old ticket instead of opening a new bug.
Is it possible to patch away this version check or set some sort of Fedora
policy where perl-Devel-Cover automatically gets rebuilt each time a perl
update is released?
