Since perl -i can be a very helpful tool for scripting and system administration, it would be nice if it preserved ACLs and EAs. ERROR: Can't open/parse the config file /etc/clamd.d/amavisd.conf [FAILED] Turns out FixStaleSocket also requires a boolean argument. I appended a 'yes' to both of these configuration directives and everything is working fine now. In particular, one of the fuse modules I was compiling had some example perl scripts which began with the line "#/usr/bin/perl." This caused the build to then require "/usr/bin/perl" which I wanted to eliminate.
