[Bug 1872870] New: perl-Data-Validate-IP build for EPEL7
by bugzilla@redhat.com
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1872870
Bug ID: 1872870
Summary: perl-Data-Validate-IP build for EPEL7
Product: Fedora EPEL
Version: epel7
Status: NEW
Component: perl-Data-Validate-IP
Assignee: swt(a)techie.net
Reporter: rpm(a)timj.co.uk
QA Contact: extras-qa(a)fedoraproject.org
CC: perl-devel(a)lists.fedoraproject.org, swt(a)techie.net
Target Milestone: ---
Classification: Fedora
awstats has grown a dependency on perl-Data-Validate-IP, which exists in EPEL8
but not previous releases.
Please could you consider building for at least EPEL7?
(although EPEL6 is close to end-of-life, we could potentially also issue a
final awstats update on that branch too, if perl-Data-Validate-IP was built).
I have already tested by successfully building and installing the latest
version from the master branch (perl-Data-Validate-IP-0.27-13) on both EPEL7
and EL6 without problems, or needing to make any changes to the spec.

Target Milestone: ---
Classification: Other
A flaw was found in perl-dbi before version 1.637. Arbitrary string supplied by
caller can be passed into Perl_croak function which expects
printf-style arguments. Malicious remote systems via specially crafted error
messages can cause problems like buffer overflow or overwriting other part of
process memory.
