Summary: perl-Config-IniFiles should require IO::Scalar
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=791078
Summary: perl-Config-IniFiles should require IO::Scalar
Product: Fedora
Version: rawhide
Platform: Unspecified
OS/Version: Unspecified
Status: NEW
Severity: unspecified
Priority: unspecified
Component: perl-Config-IniFiles
AssignedTo: tcallawa(a)redhat.com
ReportedBy: bochecha(a)fedoraproject.org
QAContact: extras-qa(a)fedoraproject.org
CC: tcallawa(a)redhat.com, fedora-perl-devel-list(a)redhat.com
Classification: Fedora
Story Points: ---
Type: ---
Regression: ---
Mount Type: ---
Documentation: ---
Description of problem:
It is possible to pass a reference to a variable containing the ini "config
file" to Config::IniFiles->new()
This feature requires IO::Scalar to be installed.
However, rpmbuild doesn't pick this dependency automatically.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
perl-Config-IniFiles-2.68-1.fc16.noarch
How reproducible:
Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. yum install perl-Config-IniFiles
2. Run the following perl script:
-- test.pl --
use Config::IniFiles;
my $ini = "[section]\nkey=value";
my $config = Config::IniFiles->new(-file=>\$ini);
-------------
Actual results:
On a system without perl-IO-stringy installed, I get:
[mathieu@localhost ~]$ perl test.pl
Failed to open SCALAR(0x1034c48): No such file or directory at test.pl line 5
This means that the package is missing a requires on perl(IO::Scalar)
Expected results:
The script should not fail, because perl-IO-stringy would be installed.
Additional info:
The problem is present both in Fedora 16 and EPEL 6, probably in other releases
as well.
Note that the requirement should probably be picked up by rpmbuild, my guess is
that rpmbuild doesn't like the way IO::Scalar is used in Config::IniFiles:
-- lib/Config/IniFiles.pm:2265 --
if (ref($thing) eq "SCALAR") {
if (eval { require IO::Scalar; $IO::Scalar::VERSION >= 2.109; }) {
return IO::Scalar->new($thing);
} else {
warn "SCALAR reference as file descriptor requires
IO::stringy ".
"v2.109 or later" if ($^W);
return;
}
}
---------------------------------
Perhaps it could be added to the spec file in the meantime?

[Bug 912991] New: perl-GnuPG-Interface-0.46 breaks perl-Mail-GnuPG
by Red Hat Bugzilla
Product: Fedora
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=912991
Bug ID: 912991
Summary: perl-GnuPG-Interface-0.46 breaks perl-Mail-GnuPG
Product: Fedora
Version: rawhide
Component: perl-GnuPG-Interface
Severity: unspecified
Priority: unspecified
Reporter: rc040203(a)freenet.de
Description of problem:
perl-GnuPG-Interface-0.46 breaks building perl-Mail-GnuPG (Testsuite hangs)
>From some further local checks and comparing *0.44 on fc18 vs. 0.46 on rawhide,
I am inclined to believe *0.46 either is API incompatible to < 0.45 or really
defective.
perl-GnuPG-Interface-0.45 seems to be working fine.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
perl-GnuPG-Interface-0.46-1.fc19.noarch
How reproducible:
Always.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Try to build perl-Mail-GnuPG for rawhide (Pick up the version from git)
# mock -r fedora-rawhide-x86_64 perl-Mail-GnuPG-0.18-2.fc19.src.rpm
=> Building hangs.
2. Press Ctrl C to abort the build
3. Download perl-GnuPG-Interface-0.45-1.fc19.noarch.rpm from
http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=357445
and install it into the chroot:
# mock -r fedora-rawhide-x86_64 \
--remove perl-GnuPG-Interface
# mock -r fedora-rawhide-x86_64 \
--install perl-GnuPG-Interface-0.45-1.fc19.noarch.rpm
4. Rebuild perl-Mail-GnuPG:
# mock -r fedora-rawhide-x86_64 \
--chroot "rpmbuild -ba builddir/build/SPECS/perl-Mail-GnuPG.spec"
=> Build succeeds.
Actual results:
* Building hangs with perl-GnuPG-Interface-0.46, building succeeds with
perl-GnuPG-Interface-0.45
* The current f19 rpm builds fine for fedora < 19.
Expected results:
Function.
Additional info:
This issue is the cause of a perl-Mail-GnuPG FTBFS during

The latest version of Params::Validate on CPAN is now 1.00 (since 11 Jun 2011).
This is the version to use everywhere. Please upgrade in EPEL (at least for
EL5, EL6 and current Fedora).
Thanks!

amavisd needs a systemd unit
it's one of the two services not converted yet on my system
even clamav has a systemd unit now (I had to convert because the sysv clamav
chain was not working too well anymore)
ln -sf /lib/systemd/system/clamd@.service
/etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/clamd(a)amavisd.service
(though there may be a cleaner way to express this dep if amavisd had its own
unit file)
