Hopefully, Toshio mail shows that this wasn't the kind of
decision you describe, something like a one way decision of
FESCo, but instead a reasoned decision taking into account
the time people could devote to the compat- package.
Yes, Toshio is correct in that it was a per-case basis for a
compat-python package. Not a unilateral decision.
