Perhaps I understand why the initial stuff like uncompressing the kernel,
starting udev, etc is in text, but what trouble would it be to extend the
graphical boot to a graphical shutdown? I'd like to help in any way I can.
Shouldn't shutdown just take a few seconds at most?
I know Fedora sometimes takes ages with the /sbin/service <daemon> stop
routine, but I'm sure some daemons don't *require* this.
Is there any way we can quicken this up by not calling the stop script?
