In the installer, type Ctrl+Alt+F2 to get a TTY, re-direct the output
of dmidecode into a file, and copy the file to a machine with a more-
hospitable environment (using wired ethernet, USB flash memory, etc.)
If there are any errors or unusual behavior, then it also is
interesting
to know if the interface for the Floppy disk drive is enabled; but
often
this requires searching through BIOS configuration screens. Sometimes
a
CD or DVD can be Read under Floppy emulation, and it is easy for the
BIOS
to try this regardless of settings. Try disabling the Floppy
in the BIOS settings, then re-booting.
