Rahul, do you use any proprietary applications on your computers at
all,
including proprietary graphics acceleration driver such as nVidia or
ATI? I ask this because in this day and age much serious computer work
is seriously hobbled without at least some of them, depending on what
you do with your computer of course. Reading and replying to emails is
one thing. 3D rendering work is quite another. See what I'm getting at?
Are Rahul's needs really a relevant topic?
You're right though, many people are in situations today where they are
more or less forced to use proprietary solutions; we have more work to do.
However, people honestly needing 3D rendering to get their work done today,
are in the minority.
Anyway, nobody is saying that open source solutions can meet the needs of
100% of users today. But there are people that do have all their computing
needs met by open source today and who don't want any proprietary baggage.
This group of users has every right to have a distribution designed
specifically for their needs as anyone else. Luckily, they have Fedora.
