It didn't stall, it was fixed long ago. The 404 page now says:
"Welcome to the new AskFedora! Sorry, we couldn't find that page. If you
are looking for the older platform, it is archived at
askbot.fedoraproject.org.
IMHO It should give the useres the new full link.
If that would not be possible, maybe it could read:
"Oh no, this page is not here. Try replacing
to get archived content of this page."
