yep you can create the software raid layout in the bios
After doing this, for the OS it looks as if i have one big, fast
disk. With
the drivers SiI supports for WinXP and RH9 (
actually to the OS it looks like 2 individual disks which have a
software raid layout on it.
dmraid will be the linux side to drive these software raid devices.
