note the one line patch in the KDE bugzilla that fixes it, apply it to

Thanks for the fix. KDE working properly with GDM is a good thing.
However, this doesn't mean defaulting to KDM when the user chooses KDE
shouldn't be done anyway. I agree it's late for F8, but for F9?
